Hear from Colleges and Scholarship Programs
Student Search Service is a free information service for students who take the PSAT/NMSQT®, SAT Reasoning Test™, or AP® Exams.
Introduce yourself to colleges by saying yes to SSS.
By participating in SSS you can:
- Let colleges, universities, and scholarship programs know you are interested in hearing from them.
- Get educational and financial aid information from colleges, universities, and scholarship programs.
How Do I Participate?
To participate, indicate "yes" to SSS on the Registration Form each time you register to take the PSAT/NMSQT, AP Exams, or SAT® tests.
SSS will use the information from your Student Descriptive Questionnaire through December of your senior year (or if you are out of high school when you test, through the December following your test date).
What Information is Reported?
SSS does not report your scores to colleges or scholarship services. However, colleges and scholarship services may select students on the basis of a range of scores. The following information about you is sent to colleges, universities, and scholarship programs:
- Name
- Address
- Sex
- Birth date
- School
- Grade level
- Ethnic identification (if provided)
- Intended college major (if provided)
Colleges, universities, and scholarship programs sponsored by governmental and nonprofit organizations that use SSS receive your name and address if you have, for example, a specific grade average, score range, intended major, or if you live in a particular state or zip code.
